The project involved redesigning selected portions of the Waze app for Windows Phone 8. This included analyzing the existing iOS version, mapping key flows, and optimizing use cases for WP8. Wireframes were created for all screens and flows, followed by visual mockups based on development team requests. The scope also covered icon design, live tile concepts, and delivering all necessary design assets.
Our plan was to follow Windows Phone design language, combining its native Metro UI with influences from theWaze iOS app. We also adhered to W8 guidelines, ensuring a seamless experience across screen resolutions and meetingstore requirements.
We prioritized easy access to essential settings by promoting the sound toggle to the front, keeping the more engaging, social menus clutter-free. To enhance usability, we maintained the current map view on menu screens, allowing users to stay connected to their journey while navigating options.
Design language shown in this Case Study has been updated from the initial production design.
