The brief.

Athleisure and sports casual is a competitive market. It’s not uncommon to see lines of customers for the launch of must-have sneakers and clothing. The demand for these products is so high that buyers resort to using online bots to hit the website sooner and secure as much of the product as possible. The objective was to launch a cutting-edge solution to be used by stores in North America, Europe and Oceania.

Our client had two critical needs

• Redesign the digital customer experience and improve the registration and reward process.
• Redesign the loyalty system to remove bots, fakes and other hacks that reduce trust in the system.

Our approach.

Ascendum was selected as the product and design partner for this exciting global initiative. We worked directly with the digital and business teams to develop a scalable product roadmap for a global rollout of the solution. We also worked with various cross-functional teams including ecommerce, warehouse management, brand marketing and supply chain to build API integrations for all these systems.

The complexity of the project lay in mainly two ares.

• Building a high-performance, scalable system to meet an extremely high demand for products.

• Designing integrations with other technology initiatives, many of which were still in progress.
