Ascendum proudly supports Crayons to Computers.

The Ascendum Culture Club held a special happy hour on Friday, August 7 in support of our fundraiser benefitting Crayons to Computers. All donations go toward leveling the playing field in the classroom by providing teachers and their students with the tools they need to succeed.

We are proud of our thoughtful employees for their support of the initiative. Please join us in supporting the event by donating online.

Imagine you are eight years old. You report to homeroom on your first day of school only to see kids opening their new backpacks full of notebooks, pencils, markers, scissors, and crayons—laughing and comparing supplies. You showed up with nothing because your family cannot afford school supplies. How would you feel?

Crayons to Computers is an outstanding organization that understands education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty. The organization is dedicated to providing students the supplies they need to succeed in school, the first step to achievement in life. It is so simple, yet so important.

The organization has distributed more than $176 million worth of school supplies, educational tools, and incentive items to teachers since 1997. The program has benefitted more than 111,000 preschool through grade 12 students in the greater Cincinnati area, including Northern Kentucky and parts of Indiana.

Ascendum employees enjoyed snacks, pizza, and libations while “stuffing the van” with critically important school supplies. Ascendum employees also donated money online to provide additional support to the foundation—in all, raising more than $2,000 in supplies and donations for the charity.

The items most in need include,  colored pencils, crayons, dry erase markers, filler paper, glue sticks, notebooks, pencils, pocket folders, and washable markers. Thanks for your support!
