CDISC (Clinical Data Interchange Standards Consortium) is an open, multidisciplinary, non-profit organization committed to the development of industry standards to support the electronic acquisition, exchange, submission and archiving of clinical trials data and metadata for medical and biopharmaceutical product development. CDISC's primary objective is to develop global, vendor-neutral, platform independent standards to improve data quality and accelerate product development in the Clinical Trials industry.

The need was to create an e-Learning solution that would help professionals across the Pharmaceutical industry:

Ascendum Solution
After completing the requirements gathering process and understanding CDISC's business objectives, Ascendum designed and developed an interactive online courseware.
The course is designed to help a wide range of audiences, novice to experts. It is comprised of six lessons enabling the student to learn the CDISC standards. It starts out with a chapter on the current state of clinical data interchange, followed by the advantages that CDISC standardization offers along with detailed data models. It also covers a brief introduction to the programming language (XML) that CDISC uses to enable the interchange of clinical data between disparate systems.
Ascendum used its flagship Learn By DoingTM methodology in applicable sections of the courseware to greatly enhance the end-user experience.
